As you know the internal mic of camera sucks, even if it is a DSLR. You can use Rode Microphone Zoom H1 however you can use your iPhone sometimes as external microphone and then you can sync audio with your video.
It's pretty simple. Go ahead and download iTalk, it's a free application from app store. Record your audio, it records the audio in quite a few formats.
For transferring your audio to the computer, go to iTalk website and download iTalk Sync. It's available for both platforms, Mac and Windows. This program let's you wirelessly sync your audio files from your iPod, iPhone.
Then go ahead and sync that audio with your video in your preferred video editing software.
